Active Rest Day or Take a Class?

Today we suggest you take a rest from the gym and complete an active recovery workout or complete a class.

Active recovery could be defined as an easier workout compared to your normal routine. Typically this workout would be done on off day from training. Generally, an active recovery workout is less intense and has less volume. We have selected 3 exercises below, pick one and go enjoy your active recovery day.

Cycling is an enjoyable exercise that has many health benefits making it a perfect exercise for fitness and active recovery days. Benefits include increased cardiovascular fitness, increased muscle strength and flexibility, improved joint mobility, decreased stress levels.
Swimming is a great recreational activity for people of all ages. Recreational swimming can provide you with a low-impact workout and it’s also a good way to relax and feel good. Common swimming styles in recreational swimming are breaststroke, backstroke, side stroke and freestyle.
Walking is simple, free, and one of the easiest ways to get more active, lose weight and become healthier. Sometimes overlooked as a form of exercise, walking briskly can help you build stamina, burn excess calories and make your heart healthier.
